instructions
- Cut apple slices on mandolin ~ 1/8 in thick. Keep skin & stem intact for a nice detail. (be extra careful when slicing with sharp blades)
- Immediately after cutting, place apple slices to the side and dip/brush in lemon juice to prevent browning.
Add to dehydrator for 5-6 hours at the highest temperature to quicken the process (if you don’t have a dehydrator, set the oven to 200F or as low as possible & prop the door partially open to increase air circulation)
TIP: Fully enjoy the beautiful aroma of apples as they dry!
- After the slices are dried, arrange them as you wish before you glue.
or doubled and irregular like I chose to do on the right. }
- Once your arrangement is decided, hot glue each slice in place
- For the acorns I had the luxury of finding them right out my doorstep. { etsy} sells some also. Glue acorns artistically to your liking
- Add star anise for added flair
TIP: These are all suggestions. Anything goes!
